Chenyang and Hikaru teach middle-schoolers during the TDAI's Data Science Summer Camp
Chenyang and Hikaru taught a module at the Data Science Summer Camp organized by Ohio State University’s Translational Data Analytics Institute.
In this hands-on session, campers learned how to identify and record bird and plant species in the field, and how to use these observations to explore the environmental conditions associated with each species. The module introduced students to the fundamentals of species distribution modeling, along with basic tools in Google Earth Engine for analyzing environmental data. Through this experience, campers gained insight into how field-based biodiversity data can be integrated with remote sensing and geospatial tools to investigate ecological patterns.
